Snow Days!

It is super snowy here in the UK which has resulted in a 4 day weekend for me - woop woop!

How cute is my gorgeous pooch enjoying the wintry weather?

A VERY Glad Hair Day!

I'm a huge fan of Soap & Glory (who isn't?!) I use Hand Food and The Righteous Butter on a daily basis and I adore the coconut 'A Great Kisser' lip balm - I could sit there and sniff it all day! But one thing I hadn't tried before was any of their hair care products.

For Christmas my friend bought me a bunch of Soap & Glory goodies (thank you Amy!) and included was the Glad Hair Day shampoo and conditioner. So of course I couldn't WAIT to try them out.

What else can I say except I love these products. My hair feels SO soft and silky and as for the shine - wow! I got so many compliments on how shiny and sleek my hair looked and as someone whose hair is normally a tad on the frizzy and fly-away side, I was absolutely delighted.

I must admit I wasn't a massive fan of the smell of either the shampoo or the conditioner in the bottle - I tend to use shampoos which have more of a fruity smell and I'm not sure what it was but they smelt kind of chemical - like in the bottle. However once my hair dried, I completely changed my mind - it smelt clean and fresh and gorgeous!

I wish these products were a little more budget-friendly as at £2.50 for a travel size and £5.50 for the regular sized bottle it's deffo a little pricey - especially considering I only got a couple of washes out of the travel size. However the quality of this shampoo and conditioner is completely fantastic and I will absolutely be purchasing another bottle or five!

Let's just end this blog post by saying...Soap & Glory Glad Hair Day shampoo and conditioner is blooming amazing!

I Love Rimmel

Anyone who knows me knows that I am a nail polish addict! If I don't have painted nails I feel slightly naked  if I'm honest - I certainly don't feel as though any outfit is complete without perfectly painted nails even if it's just a classic french polish.

I have used so many brands over the years from Essie to Topshop to OPI to Barry M to Chanel - I've tried them all (really wish I could afford more Chanel polishes because they are amazing! Damn you bank balance!) but as someone on a rather limited budget there is one brand that never lets me down for affordability, good quality and fab selection of colours - and that is Rimmel.

Whenever I go into Boots, I always find myself at the Rimmel stand, the range of colours is so varied and appealing that I just can't help myself! I'm not sure whether it's normal to want to purchase a nail varnish simply based on its name but I must admit that I'm a sucker for that - 'Tangy Tangerine' 'Marshmallow Heaven' 'Pop Your Pink' - it just makes me want them more!

Ok so after a couple of days they start to chip but for the price that you're paying (60 Seconds - £3.69 and I <3 Lasting Finish - just £1.99 in Boots) I think they are fantastic value for money.

The thing that impresses me most with the '60 Seconds' polishes is the Xpress Flat Brush which I find is SO easy to work with, I barely make any mistakes with it - the 1 sec application claim is actually justified as painting my nails with these polishes genuinely takes barely any time at all. They also dry quickly and leave a smooth and sleek finish on the nails.

These varnishes can dry up in the bottle quite quickly but because of the price and the fact that the colour range is increasing and evolving all the time, it doesn't feel like a major issue to me.

My latest purchase - 500 Caramel Cupcake from the 60 Seconds range

Overall, I absolutely love these polishes! How about you - are you a fan of Rimmel?

2013 Wishlist!

Every year I make loads of New Year's Resolutions, eat healthier, do more exercise, take up yoga/zumba/fire-breathing (ok maybe not the last one but you get my point). And every year usually round about mid January I found myself eating a domino's pizza in my pjs completely avoiding whichever hobby I've sworn to myself will be my new 'thing'. (One year it was rock-climbing - literally went once)

So this year I decided instead of feeling bad about myself when I inevitably fail with whatever resolution I've made, I would do something different. So I decided a wish list of all the things I want in 2013 was a much better idea! Some of these things money can't buy, some I'm gonna need a lot of the old dosh for but hey, it's a "wish" list right so I'm allowed to be a little unrealistic?

Without further ado...

Let's start with the shallow things first

  • An iPhone

I've never particularly been a massive Apple fangirl, I think their stuff is great and I have an ipod but I've never been someone who was bothered about having any of their other products let alone be interested in queuing outside the Apple store for their new release. However a combination of becoming dissatisfied with my phone (a Samsung Galaxy S) witnessing first hand Apple's excellent customer service and a lot of time spent playing around on friends' iPads has made me a convert! My current contract is up next month and I think an iPhone is where I'm headed. Thought I'd start my wishlist with something that I can realistically achieve! :)

  • An iPad

In the same vein as the above but sadly a lot less realistic for me this year *sigh*

  • A Clarisonic

As someone who has suffered from acne since I was 13 years old, my quest for better skin continues this year and I have read some really positive reviews about the Clarisonic and would love to give it a go.

  • Kurt Geiger Gen sandals in black

I have been coveting these beautiful shoes for quite some time now. I'm always checking to see if they're miraculously in the sale yet (they never are). The patterned ones tend to have deals on them every now and then but never the classic black ones. At £195 they are very pricey for one pair of shoes but they are so drool-worthy...

  • A car - preferably a Fiat 500

Having been able to drive for a while now and not having ever had my own car, this is high on my list of priorities for 2013. I have been saving for nearly a year and should be able to buy a car this year, realistically it won't be a gorgeous Fiat 500 but hey, where's the fun in realism?!

  • A Pandora bracelet
I LOVE Pandora, I often find myself gazing in their shop window or popping in to drool over the jewellery. I have a Pandora ring that I wear on a daily basis which is beautiful and compliments any outfit and this year I would love a charm bracelet to go with it.

  • Tickets to see Les Mis

I have wanted to see Les Mis in the West End for AGES and hopefully I'll get to this year!

On to the not so shallow wishes...
  • Health - 2012 was not a great year for me health-wise, here's hoping 2013 is much better in that area!
  • Positive Mental Attitude - I want to stop being so anxious about EVERYTHING and get out there and enjoy all that life has to offer! Easier said than done but I'm going to try my best!
  • Quality time with friends - life moves so fast and everyone is so busy but I have amazing friends and I want to see them LOTS in 2013!
So there you have it! I wonder how many of these things I'll acquire this year!!

An Introduction!

So this is my very first post! One of my New Year's Resolutions for 2013 was to start a blog, mostly as a way to remember all the good things that happen this year as opposed to dwelling on the negatives as I have tended to do in every other year of my life.

I want to be able to look back at the end of 2013 and see what's happened and if anything's changed this year!

I am almost 24 years old (yikes) I am obsessed with American television, make up, beauty and fashion and I long to travel  - desperately...

Welcome to my blog and happy 2013!
